Redinator's First Hatch-Along w Bonus Broody: And Everything Thereafter

Are you setting tomorrow?
I'm gonna work in small batches, approaching this very analytically. I can't get emotionally invested in each and every egg, it's very draining. I will love all the chicks the same once hatched though.

I decided there's some things you just can't test without actually having eggs in the incubator. I want to put all the incubators through their paces before I buy eggs of pure breeds to hatch next spring. Thanks, for that viewpoint by the way :D

I'll be starting with the eggs that have been sitting the longest. The oldest were collected on Sept 29th, so they're less than two weeks old.

I'll set 3 eggs in each of the 5 incubators, working towards a dry hatch. When I candle at day 10 I'll toss any non-starters, then I'll consolidate the remaining eggs into one incubator.

Then I'll set 3 more in the unoccupied incubators

I'm aiming to have 30 viable chicks when all is said and done. :fl

Edit: The short answer is yes, I'll be setting them tomorrow. I need to figure out where I'm putting all the incubators, lol.

Oh my gosh I love this approach! I love the analytical aspect of things, so I'm looking forward to your results from this!
