Same!!! Haha I really want more chickens, but don’t want to build another coop so have been able to resist but this is too fun! Making me reconsider. My boys ask daily to check our eggs for baby chicks haha might have to try it some day.Same! I'm already dying to hatch some eggs! This did not help lol.
My kids are really wanting to hatch some as well. They love the chicks we've bought. My girls especially. We've got lots of feral cats around here, and as they've had kittens, we bring the kittens in our house. We've found we can get the mamas inside this way. From there, we can get Mama to trust us enough to get her spayed as the babies wean, and we're able to socialize the babies and find them good homes. Thus, not perpetuating the stray cycle any more than has to be.Same!!! Haha I really want more chickens, but don’t want to build another coop so have been able to resist but this is too fun! Do you have a rooster/cockerel?Same!!! Haha I really want more chickens, but don’t want to build another coop so have been able to resist but this is too fun! Making me reconsider. My boys ask daily to check our eggs for baby chicks haha might have to try it some day.
Yes ma’am! I have two. Only 5 of my girls are laying but quite a few are fertilizedDo you have a rooster/cockerel?
You have better willpower than me. Once I saw the ring on an egg yolk my hands went to sweating and I started pacing like a crazy person. "I don't need more chickens . . .but I only have 10, what's few more . . ." I voiced my concerns to the enabling friend and he headed over to the Tractor Supply by his house (2.5 hours away) and found $1 chicks.Yes ma’am! I have two. Refresh my memory, the Ayam Cemanis, were they not fertile, or did they stop developing? You have better willpower than me. We thought that would cure my ails, but when I went to pick up my $1 chicks (18 of those) . . .I decided to see what other breeds they had since the one near me stopped selling them a month or so ago. I picked up a 'few' (30, now 26) more.
Now I'm hatching these (22) since I found the Ayam Cemanis and decided to add a few of my own. Considering the outcome with the Ayam Cemanis I'm glad I did, or I'd be disappointed right now.
Once I put the 3 and 4 week olds in the yard Sweety just decided she should contribute and decided to sit on some eggs (5).
About half never started, then a few more quitRefresh my memory, the Ayam Cemanis, were they not fertile, or did they stop developing?
I wonder if this is common with them, or just bad luck? I've bounced between getting zombie eggs, or Ayam Cemani and White Leghorn eggs and taking that route to making zombies. But I'd hate to have no luck.About half never started, then a few more quit![]()
