Ok folks, lets get back on topic, which a redneck swimming pool. Any more pics of such?

Let's remember we are a family board and we are veering somewhat.

I wonder what type of plastic to line the truck bed with. Maybe just a tarp? DH has an old truck with an 8 foot bed, that would make a good sized pool!!!

I showed the pic to my DH and he thought YES! Problem is it is now fall and not really a great time to get the water warm. I also think we would have chicken company, no way to keep the water clean....

I got a 10mil thick black plastic sheet and lined the bed of my work truck a couple of years ago then hooked the hose up to the the boiler and filled it up. jumped in with a cigar and a 6 pack. just about blew the springs out from under the truck. they never asked me to work on a sunday again.

It was a rental so I didnt care. but for future reference if anyone is going to load the bed of their truck with water make sure to stay within the capacity of the truck. (or place a 4x4 between the axle and frame before filling).

Yeah, dont try this at home kiddies.

I calculated an average 6 x 5 x 3 bed to hold 90 cubic feet, or 90 ft3 (7.481) = 673.29 gallons.
A gallon of water weighs about 8 lbs., so filling the truck bed on an average full sized pickup would be adding 5386.32 lbs, or 2.5 tons to the suspension.

Goodbye leaf springs!
