Hello and thank you in advance for reading and or replying! This is my 8 month old rooster his ankles (I believe that's the ankles?) are red. I checked for mites and didn't see anything. His vent did have red bumps where some of the feather follicles were but no feather in it. I couldn't get a picture since I was holding him with one arm and parting the feathers with the other, lol. If additional photos would help let me know and I can attempt to get them. Please let me know if this looks like anything or you have advice! Thank you again :)

Do you have a feather plucker in your flock? My Golden Comet's bum is currently pretty bald, and it's red like that. Whenever I had a chicken with a plucked bald spot, it's usually red like that.

i do not have a plucker and he’s king of the coop. he is molting a bit, nothing major like bald spots but the redness on both ankles seems quite uniform which makes me wonder if it’s irritated by something

Hmmm.... I've seen ankles get red because of hormones, but this looks more on the scales' surface. I don't really know. Maybe it's related to molting???
