Refurbish or buy new coop?

Hi all!
Just wanted a little feedback. I have a 5 year old coop I bought as a prefab . I was my first coop and currently houses my 2 Polish hens. It's looking a little worse for the wear. My question is...to continue to calk, paint and tweak, or just buy a new one? I have a friend that is willing to work on a metal roof, and I was going to paint again and spray sealer over that. I could see it lasting another 3 -4 years at the most. Or a new prefab is really all I need for the Polish and maybe a couple silkies later on. See photo. Any opinions welcome.

You could build one cheaper than buying or having to do repairs

It's very cute! Is building your own an option for you? Prefabs are very cute to look at but typically tend to be on the cheaply made side. If you buy another new pre-fab I fear you'll be in the same boat in another few years or sooner.

Yes I realize it's a cheapo! My 4 other girls have the deluxe quarters . I'm going to think about having my friend build me a new coop instead of pouring more money into this one.

Whatever you think will keep them the safest from predators is what I would do. Add hardware cloth if you don't have any because chicken wire is made to keep chickens in, not predators out. Have a blessed evening. GOD bless. ♡♡♡

If you look you can see in the pic it is inside a pen that is covered in wire and hardware cloth. I would not trust it as a stand alone to keep the birds safe.

I too think you should build one.
Prefabs are really not worth the money.
