Regarding candling...?

Hey Cindy -

That's a great part of town with some lovely old trees!

I have about six banties, including a beautiful silkie rooster named Farouk (don't ask!), a mating pair of Black Australorps, two Buff Orpington hens and two Koekoek Hens. The last species is a local breed, barred white on a black background...lovely!

There are two, ten-day-old chicks, and four that are four days old, all of dubious parentage...

How 'bout you?

Oh my gosh, waaay off topic here, hope nobody minds. I have 40 birds, and six eggs in the bator. I have way too many roosters, even after rehoming five of them just recently. BO, Black Copper Marens, RIR, Black Australorps, some EE's, some Wyandottes, Lavendar Orps, and of course, my Seramas. I've just realized all three of my Buffs are roos, so not sure what to do there, all three of my FBCMs were roos, got rid of two, all three of my White Leghorns were roos, got rid of them all, really want Buff hens, so am on the hunt, really want FBCM hens, so have been trying, just had a 0/9 result from some eggs I had shipped, it's really never ending. I also, have no one but one little Serama hen laying yet. And yet, I find myself spending way more time than I should out there just watching them and making plans. It truly is addicting. I just built a new coop, 8'x24', and I have it filled already. So many chickens, so little space.

Forgot to mention my Silkies, six of them, and three are roos for sure.
