last friday one of our bantam roosters was attacked by a raccoon, we put him in a separate cage and put him away at night. He recovered very quickly with only a scratch on the back and a broken wing. The day before we set the cage with him in it in the enclosure with the rest of the flock and this morning when I put him with the flock one of the hens and the other bantam rooster attacked him. The 4 hens and 2 roosters have been together since they were chicks about 3 years ago so it's not an issue of being strangers. How do I properly reintroduce them with a minimum of fighting.

! Great to have you with us! I think you might want to try and put the injured bird in a safe enclosure where he and the other birds can interact but not have contact. Do this for several days. And make sure the attacked rooster is completely healed - chickens see weakness in a flock member and will go after it. Good luck to you!
