I have 5 chicks and 3 ducklings that are currently in the same brooder, and they are quickly running out of room because the ducks are getting big. The weather is not going to cooperate with getting the coop done this weekend as I had hoped, so I am going to have to buy another tote to separate them to give them more space. Any suggestions on how to separate (ie, all chicks in one and ducks in the other, or a mix in each?) I'm hoping they will only be separated for a week or so. Is that a short enough time that there won't be issues putting them back together? Everyone is about 4 weeks old right now. TIA!!!!
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
