Rejected and injured chick

Hello. I recently found one of my hens starting to act agressively toward a younger chick or runt(one day old) and start pecking it. I removed the chick from our coop and put him/her in a box. He/she seemed to have been bleeding and injured on the head. One of our guesses to why this was happening was that my hen already had 5 other babies hatched about a week before this one and rejected it because it was late. We later put a clamp light to warm the chick. The chick can open one eye but the other has a bump due to being pecked. After 3 days he/she has been drinking a mixture of start and grow feed and water through a syringe. He seems to be unbalanced time to time and opens his/her beak occasionally to breathe. Other than that he seems to be okay. Any suggestions on what else we can do to help this chick? Any medications that can help? Thank you!

Do you have a wire dog crate or a cage? I think after he recovers it would be good to build a brooder, even a chicken wire circle in the coop, just to keep it separated, but still with the rest of the flock. This will help him integrate so much sooner than raising him in your house. It'll just need a constant heat source... a heat lamp or a heating pad cave. And it's own food and water of course. Here are some helpful links:

As a warning, the hen may have rejected this bird as she senses something else is wrong. In nature, this is often done to conserve the resources for the chicks that live. It might not live not matter what you do just as a warning. good luck.

I am confused as to why this egg hatched a week later?

One of the chicks eyes seems to be okay but the other eye is swollen and he/she can't open that eye.
I'm sorry to hear about your chick.
Can you post some photos of the chick and it's eye?
How old is the chick now?
What breed?
Can the chick eat/drink at all own it's own?

I agree with @FlappyFeathers keep him warm and try to get him hydrated. Poultry vitamins would be good for a few days as well.

The swollen eye, will wait for photos.

Keep us posted.

Originally one of our broody hens sat on 7 eggs and other hens started laying more. Then we had 9 eggs under our hen and marked them so we would be able to tell the difference. After 21 days chicks started to hatch each day for about a week until we had 5 chicks. After 3 or 4 days this one hatched

The chick is 4 days old now. He can’t drink on his own, we usually lift up his water dish to him then he drinks. But he does not eat on his own.We do not know exactly what breed he/she but maybe a mix between a serama and a japanese bantam.
