Relatives making jokes about owning chickens

Me too lmao, people suck. One of my friends knows I have chickens, but he automatically assumed I live in a farm (we have 1.8 acres in a wealthy neighborhood, not a farm). He thinks I’m lying about the car I have becuase ”if you keep chickens you can’t drive a Tesla”. dont give them a reaction

Has he ever seen a farm? They got some money.

My mom's main "joke" is she doesn't get why I don't butcher them if they're not laying. She tells relatives "They're pets, they don't even eat them!"

The last time she was here, our first birds were just coming to POL, and she said if I couldn't handle butchering them that she knew how to do it and would I like a chicken dinner?

I am so sorry, I know how that feels. My mother would never eat the fresh eggs from my hens. She told me she and her husband didn't eat eggs!
But there were store bought eggs in her fridge every time I was there.
Truthfully, I felt kinda insulted.
