Religion and chickens

While, yes, this is a chicken board, I would venture to guess that all of you have posted about something NOT chicken related, such as camping trips etc. so I really don't think you all can complain about just faith based threads--on the pretense that this is a chicken board. This is a social forum as well.

I agree that if you don't want to read a religious thread, you should skip it. However, there have been several threads where I was really interested in the posted subject and somewhere on page 2 someone makes a religious connection and the whole discussion goes in that direction. I have to read through all the religious postings to find the few postings back on the original subject. Perhaps, when this happens, a new thread on the tangent subject can be started by page 3? Just a thought.

I agree, and I think the original poster had that in mind too. Last I researched this topic the only religion (that I know of) that actively uses chickens in it's practices is voodoo shamanism, and I bet there isn't many shamans on this forum.

But all this kidding aside I think we all are getting our feathers ruffled when a person injects a religion based comment into what is clearly non-religious discussion.

If you find solace in asking for prayers for any of the above mentioned issues (and more!) on this forum and start a new thread that specifies religious content. More power to you! It's good that there is a supportive community.

If I say my chickens nearly froze last week because power was out and ask what to do in that situation; This does not a prayer request constitute! But valid help tips are welcome.

Did I mention my quail laid an egg yesterday? First for me! (keeping with the spirit of a chicken forum, and yet talking about quail

).

also, as if it were a surprise, i'm behind the idea of having a RELIGION section just as we should have a POLITICS section... That way, you don't want to read it, hear about it, read it, etc... don't go in there. Simple as that. No one gets their feelings hurt. Easy?! I'm glad this thread has remained open.
