It has SO improved! Though we're still we're able to find plenty of mind numbing ridiculous programs to watch (you know, the ones where you go "this is so stupid! another stupid reality show! How does anyone watch this junk?" and then sit with the remote aimed at the tv preparing to change the channel as soon as your interest lags. Which it doesnt. you end the half hour with.."that was so stupid" and will watch again next week to see how much more stupid it can get.

Seems like there's some new shows coming up along the lines of Ice Road truckers, deadliest catch etc..have to go research. I think something starts tonite. I saw previews on HDtv channel.

question: Who's the biggest star on deadliest catch?

anwer: The Bering Sea!

(love all the guys tho, except Keith!)
ooo and Mike Rowe love that dude! yummy

I think it still is!!!! Have you ever seen that commmercial with Dennis Miller when he talks about brains becoming mush these days??? It's right on. When our local stations switched to analog programming, unless you had a dig. converter box or cable tv you wouldn't receive programming. Well since it has switched we no longer have tv programming. I can't say that I am disappointed or that I miss it. My kids don't even complain about not being able to watch this or that. Instead of sitting in front of the tube like a zombie they now go outside and get fresh air or they are coming up with things to create/build etc, like I used to when I was younger. Yes I totally agree there is some pretty good programming on tv, history channel, tlc, etc. but the majority still is not worth the time. It's really sad b/c alot of today's problems stem from the messages and content of tv programming.
So yes, we still think of it as the idiot box with potential. Just my opinion.

Well this idiot is going to watch a program on A & E about hoarders. This always interested me for some reason. How can people live like that?

When I was a kid I remember going to a friend's house and they had Grandpa living there and he hoarded newspapers and had them stacked to the ceiling, there was a path to get from room to room. Every once in a while they would leave enough room for a window to let light in. What about a fire?

I find it fascinating.....
