I'm quite the advocate for BR roosters. I need some new pictures of Dutch, his wonderful son who leads the flock now. I separated him from the flock of evil women for his comb and wattles to heal up from them pecking wounds caused by fights with his brother, Mace. Dutch is so much like Hawkeye, it's uncanny.

What a beautiful boy!!! This happened to us yesterday as you already know (and by the way thank you for your help). It is kind of strange that this happened to you on April 15, and it happened to us on April 16. Both were unexpected. I am very sorry that this happened to you and I will mourn with you and I will probably be grieving for a long time too. It is not weird to still be sad for a roo! =]

That sounds like an awsome rooster. I'm sorry he passed away. But I have a question. Is that a piece of garlic in his waterer in the first pic of him in quarentine?

Yes, that is a clove of garlic. It was part of my campaign to plump up his immune system and get him back to good health. Thank goodness, he didnt have a respiratory illness, just malnutrition, lice and favus, all very fixable. He was a blessing to our family.
