They should be perfectly fine. I aim for 75% I am frequently opening during hatch. When it starts getting to the 65% range I pull a sponge (I use sponges in my bator at lockdown to up my humidity) and rewet it and put it back in. I don't worry about it going too high (of course with me being a meddler it doesn't stay that high for long, ) but I have seen mine up above 85%. (Just an excuse for me to crack it open and reposition my eggs so I can see them better.Humidity was at 88, and dipped to 73ish as I removed chicks and shells.
Didn't see any more pips, so hopefully they are ok.
Temp dropped to 97. I put a wet washcloth in there before closing it back up.
Remaining 12 eggs going to be ok?
I'd rather have it a bit higher than too low.Hubby said humidity was at 81, so I had him pull the cloth. He just called back n said it dropped to 64 humidity..
He is going to recheck in 15 mins. I told him if it wasn't over 70 to put cloth back.
I recommend at least 24 hours after the last hatch pulling them out and candling them to check for movement life. Then you'll have an idea if there is any sign of life and can decide wether you want to move to eggtopsy or give them longer.I don't see any action with the remaining eggs. How long to I wait to see if they will hatch?
If you haven't removed the shells or have a lot of egg goo in teh bator it will make the bator smell. I've never delt with it because I keep it cleaned out as they hatch. The incubator is starting to smell. Is that from the hatching or are the eggs bad?
Should I wait another day? Haven't had any action in 24 hours.
