Remind me again... When do you start counting incubation days?

T
Today is June the 1st.

If your hen takes to her nest today at 12 noon,

then the first day would not be complete until 12 noon tomorrow June the 2nd and so forth.

hatching therefor should not be expected to start before 12 noon on June 22nt

which is the 21st day (inclusive)..

The 15th it is then.

I'm going to check them again when I get home. Should I keep the questionable ones?
I throw out any (obvious) clears at day 10 and any blood rings as I see them. Everything else stays in until the end unless they smell...lol My very first hatch I pulled the ones I thought were goners and one of them wasn't, until I cracked it open. I felt soooo bad, so after that I decided only clears and blood rings were going if there wasn't any smells.

Ok. So I pulled 5 infertile eggs out. Those were pretty oblivious. But I have 17 questionables. Ugh! All purchased hatching eggs. My eggs look ok from what I can see, but they are dark maran eggs.
Now don't the pictures below mean the egg is bad?
1. It's has a huge job in the lining.
We have crap for signal, so I'm having issues, but candling from the pointy end, there is a obvious jump in the clear area, into the darker veiny area.
2. Also blood rings are seen from top or bottom?
3. If you can see stuff sloshing around, the egg is bad?

Blood rings can form around the egg or on one side. It all depends where the veins collapse to. Sloshing around is not a good sign.

I'm also having a hard time with purchased green eggs... hard to see!!!
Don't want to waste chicks on eggs that are hard to judge.
