I have read about getting the chicks out of the hatcher to eat and drink
I have a gqf hatcher I live alone when my chicks start to
Hatch I probably won't be home for up to several hours depending
On when they start till I get home from work. How big a problem is this if at all.
Thanks

Dan

It shouldn't be a problem. It's like going to bed and waking up 7-8 hours later. The babies will be there, if not more

They can live up to 3 days off the absorbed yolk sac. I take mine out after 24 hours or so. What doesn't hatch in 24 to 36 hours from the first hatch usually gets tossed as bacteria prevention mostly.

chicken chicks can, but not quail. Quail don't have all the reserves like chicken.

Agreed! Chicken folk should not be able post in the quail section. They are chickens after all!

I love the chicken folks, but you don't really know what you are talking about....Please move along

320 eggs?! LOL wow, I thought I was bad... we picked up a few (24) quails off CL... I read up on them, built an incubator, and then bought 150 eggs, plus the 40+ eggs the quails had laid... now I'm just impatiently waiting for them to hatch

quails are "kind of" addicting!
