So my baby Button chicks are now just over 3 weeks old. They have all their feathers, and I am wondering if it is ok to remove the heat lamp. I have raised it up as far as it would go over time, but it insists on keeping the brooder at 85 degrees, which I know they don't need. They are now in a room with my other birds, and it stays pretty warm in there. The temp in that room is probably about 75 easily. I don't want to switch the bulb to lower the heat, because it would be a white bulb and I don't want them to start pecking. We are in the process of building their cages, and hope to move them into the cages in the next week or so. I really am thinking that it would be ok at this point to remove the heat, but just looking for some reassurance I guess.....
