hello fed back on converting a rabbit barn into a coop for my girls.
the bottom is opened but will put boards up to enclose.
the barn has no floor. it has lots of sand. My question is do i have to put in a floor instead of using the ground with the sand? New chicken mom. thanks

Any photos of the set up? A floor isn't necessary for a chicken coop, but you do need to think about how you're going to manage litter (I assume you're keeping with sand?) and if there's any issues with pests or moisture seeping in, which are 2 more common issues with a dirt floor.

i can take pictures. yes keeping sand and adding more, then adding shavings. the ground doesn't get wet when rain hits.

we live in east Tennessee. the new yard is bigger. Also right now we have 8 20 week olds and 12 1 week.old. we will have 2 coops
