The crow collar works some what, i have noticed my roosters crow in the day mostly if I come to visit. I put a door on an unused nest box, and will keep a rooster in there until after 10 AM, and some times if they crow too much I put him away, and let him out again through out the day.

It's not going to work well.

First off, one day won't be enough to get them well-bred, even if they do allow it. A week would be better.

Secondly, it's going to cause stress (adding a new bird) and that can throw off their laying. If you did one day and they quit laying for a week, you likely wouldn't get any fertilized eggs anyway.

If you had someone very close that was comfortable doing AI, that could possibly be an option. I doubt you do though, or you would have mentioned it.

At that point, you could just do AI. I think it would be less stressful for the ladies, and you'd know the deed was done

Honestly, I don't have any experience with using AI for chickens since I've always had a trusty rooster around. I wouldn't know where to start! I know how it works with other livestock/animals but...couldn't my hens just 'spit it out' like everyone said before? Thanks for all the advice guys. I'll probably just end up going for some hatching eggs. Don't wanna stress my poor girls out.

I don't believe the spitting out thing works, especially 100%. I've had some roosters that the ladies truly weren't fans of and they still had a few fertile eggs.

There are some YouTube videos that show (unless they ended up being reported and taken down). Some breeders know how to as well. Mr and one of my friends learned from a judge at our 4H show
