I have been looking at replacing my female Pekin Duck with either a female Ancona or female Blue Swedish. My pekin has recently became very loud and kind of mean and my neighbors are not too happy, I have read online that both Ancona and Swedish girls tend to be very friendly and not very loud, Can anyone confirm this? if not can anyone recommend a friendly quiet breed? Any advise or input would be greatly appreciated!

I have 2 female blue Swedish and they are one of my nosiest birds in my flock(mainly at food or play time). Some very quiet ducks are muscoveys, which make very little noise(almost non-existant) and saxonys. The only thing is if you breed any other duck to a muscovey the offspring will be infertile, but will still lay eggs(kinda like mules). But it doesn't always guarantee that they'll be quiet, because they tend to develop their own personalities(like my female pekins and Welsh harlequins are one of the quietest females I have, even though they are meant to be noisy)

Part of the reason why I chose Mallards for duck of choice, there is no mistaking their loud crisp quacking. Our other Rouen/Pekin mix ducks have a very different lower tone quack. One even sounds like we have a goose hiding in the flock somewhere. They are all very unique sounding in their own way. I still love the sound of Mallard first thing in the morning over the neighbors dog barking! LOL :)

My saxony are very quiet. My neighbors love them. One of my neighbors had a pekin and had to get rid of it because she was to loud.

I wish my Saxony girls were quiet, but they are a bunch loud mouth vocal old ladies, they will be a 1 y/o next month. Two of them are particularly noisy right now and the third just walks around grumbling under her ducky breathe. I keep expecting her to haul off and smack the other two into silence. Thankfully most of my neighbors find their loud honking amusing, plus the occasional homemade jam or baked goods, and sometimes free eggs do help.
