Does anyone know the correct time to repot an amaryllis bulb ? I've heard it's when the bulbs are dormant but here in Southern California my bulbs never go dormant. I started with 2 in a pot and over the years have divided and now I have 5, and its a bit cozy for them and think I should repot them.

You have to pull them from the pot and hang them upside down. They'll dry out and go dormant. You can replant any time after that. If you've fed them and given some sun, they should bloom well in the future. It takes about 1.5-2 months after planting to bloom.
