Agreed. It DOES generate some heat, don't make the mistake of touching the motor...but the thermostat does not care where the heat is coming from when it adjusts the heat from the main heater.
BUT, I would avoid olacing eggs in close proximity to the little motor just the same...
Follow-up: with the NEW model Srpingfield PreciseTemp device from
Walmart, the temp that read 101 on the bulbs now reads 99.5 on the $6 device.
The Genesis was correct from the factory.
Bought two of 'em and they both read the same on Temp, two % difference on the humidity...close enough!
I "calabrated" the cheap bulb thermometer that came with the Genesis (note how many degrees it is off, then carefully peel the glue off the backside of the bulb and slide the glass up to where it would read correct...the temp will go down while you are doing this so, guestimate the distance before hand,I did mone in relation to the little hole punched through the cardboard at the top).
