You can also use felt from the fabric store cut to fit. It is cheaper and just as good.



Loose substrate, especially sand, can lead to impaction (blockage of the digestive track). Plus leos are not true desert dwellers so there is no real reason to keep them on sand.
They're not really desert dwellers but in the wild their habitat consists of sandy gravel and rocks which is why i think it's a bit nicer to have them on sand, but everyone has different views on the subject so...
The reason they ingest Sand is to get calcium. It's usually the juveniles which do this. Adults are generally fine.
You can get calcium based sand which is said to be digestible. Could be an option.
