ReptiPro 5000 & 6000 Hatch-a-long Thread

Well, hatched 6 of 7, one quit looks like about a week ago. All that hatched are Minorca Easter Egger crosses. Next up will be on the 2nd of June I think... Not got my notebook in front of me.

Congrats! Not a bad hatch at all. Looking up Minorcas. :))

Ok, those are waay cool looking birds. You get white eggs. They look to be on the small size, like a leghorn?

That's what I have read, but she is a buff (and insanely pretty with irredecent almost earlobes), and gives me medium sized white eggs... and my Ancona (love the mottling) gives small eggs and they should be large to extra large.

Oor did you mean the chicken on the small side not the eggs? Yes, she is about 5 pounds I would say.

I was asking about the chicken itself..they look to be about the same size of a leghorn, but pictures aren't always easy to go by. I just see that they are very pretty. Your's is 5 lbs? I'm thinking that's about what my leghorn is, she looves her food..her name is Miss Piggy. :)

I have a pic of her (well, kinda) in my photos, her name is Minnie
Pretty girl..she's bigger than I thought. I love that mottled one, ada? I love the mottled..I have some exchequer eggs in the bator now. I have one little girl outside that I hatched a few weeks ago. Getting pretty, but not as mottled as I like, so these eggs in the bator are from a different breeder. Not too many have made it to lock down..only three..so crossing fingers they make it, and they aren't all roosters!
Oh, and I love your watering system..pretty nice. :)

I am on day 10 today and most of my air cells still look way too small (quite a few still look like day 1). My humidity is setting almost the same as the igloo (little higher) and those are fine. I have no water in the reptipro and my house humidity is in the 30's, but in the reptipro it stays 45-55% - i CANNOT get it to go down. I have also had quite a few blood rings.

I did candle, had to throw some out, but only one blood ring, one no air sac..green egg, so hard to see in, but no air sac at all, so I figure..not fertile, or bad shipping, and a couple that were very clear. The others are looking good. :) My humidity is up there too..wondering if I should move that to another room, it's just off of our bath door. I tell my hubby to keep it closed for a while after showering, and open the other door to that bath until the humidity is down after a shower. He usually remembers. It was up in the high 50's, but now in the low 40's. That's ok for me. If it goes up high again, I will move it. I like having it in our room though! :))
