Republican Debate?

The answer to that question and the applause showed why the question and the way it was presented wasn't appreciated by the audience. And in a crown of 6000 it was only a couple of boos. Heck I saw thousands boo Micheal Bolton (the singer) at a ballgame once.

Santorum is out for me due to his answer to an issue I feel strongly about. I do want to hear much more from Mr. Cain though. Perry reminds me of a snake oil salesman.

Okay, regardless if this thread goes bad or not I just want to help -

For those of you who missed the debate but want to see it:

I don't like any of them except maybe Jon Huntsman. I don't think he is extreme enough to get the GOP nod. I think there's a good chance the GOP might be shooting itself in the foot this go round. In order to win the primary you need to be a zealot like Rick Perry, but independents won't vote for the extreme candidates in the general election. Obama ain't doing great, but that doesn't always matter if you can't find a decent candidate to run against him, ask John Kerry.

As a yeller-dog Republican, I watched the debate twice.

My thoughts.... for what they are worth.

Gary Johnson: Doesn't have an ice cubes chance in Phoenix of getting the nomination but I laughed when he said his neighbors two dogs had produced more shovel ready jobs than Barack Obama. I love his fair tax and balanced budget stands.

Rick Santorum: I disagree with him when it comes to Afghanistan and Iraq. We need to get out. I did appreciate him calling out Perry and his immigration stance.

Newt Gingrich: He's smart, articulate has great ideas, would make a great cabinet member but doesn't have a chance against Obama.

Jon Huntsman: A neo-con. He should be a Democrat, running against Obama. I actually sat next to him during a basketball game back in my university days. His father's home was next door to where one of my friends grew up in Salt Lake. He doesn't live his religion and that's a big minus for me.

Herman Cain: How can you NOT LOVE HIM? He would be a great cabinet member. I think he could win against Obama.

Michelle Bachmann: She should be out of the race by the end of January. While I agree with most of what she says, she is not presidential material at present.

Ron Paul : He is a good man. BUT, I think he'd leave us defenseless and vulnerable to attack. I suppose I lean to the Libertarian side of most issues so I like him. I feel he came in 2nd place in the debate.

Rick Perry: He is a blow hard who would do better, if like Obama, he had a teleprompter with him at all times. He is not presidential material and looked weak and tired. He blew his prepared lines more than once. I don't believe that he could beat Obama in the end. Giving illegals preference to school at the Univ. of TX over out of state kids. C'mon there is no "heart" in that. That's just stupid. We don't need another clueless person in the white house.

Mitt Romney : Won the debate hands down. Looked presidential. Has a plan to get the country back on track. He believes in America. I believe he has explained away the Massachusetts health care law OVER and OVER again, that the democratic legislature passed there. To compare it to Obamacare is just idiotic. 75 pages to 1000+ pages. They don't even compare. Only morons would compare the two. Yes, I know him. Yes, I've had conversations with him. Yes, He would be the best President these United States could have since Abraham Lincoln. He will repeal Obama care. He will get us energy independent. He will produce jobs.
and as Walter Cronkite used to say... and that's the way it is.

I didn't like Bush either; but still, no need for the name calling.

Hey!, Bush was a moron too!... and so was..... (insert name here)

...it's why I had to go all the way back to LINCOLN!... and some folks thought he was a moron... there's been a long line of them.
