If anyone has repurposed a trampoline to make an enclosure for ducks or chickens, I'd love to see photos. My ducks have a coop and run, but I need something that I can move around the yard that they can be out in during the day, without my hovering over them for constant fear of predators. Thanks!

I am working on one now. I got trampoline reconstructed and husband welded it and a frame together. It was one of the little ones that twins outgrew and was starting to fall apart. I will take pics soon. I was also not sure if I could ask some questions I have also about how I am going to go on with it. I am planning on it being a grow out for the chicks in between time to finish their coop because their brooder boxes are getting to small. Thanks

I'd love to see a picture of your project when it's complete! We ended up not doing the trampoline - my husband wanted to go a different route. Here's what he made:

I don't think your picture posted. Yes, PVC - it's kind of heavy to move. We're going to add a couple wheels on the back to make it a little easier. It has chicken wire on the bottom sides and bird netting on the top.

I am sorry did not get finished didn’t realize it was going to send that. Was trying to say that I’m on my last two weeks of virtual zoom learning for my six-year-old twins that are in kindergarten and where I can actually get something done. Other than sit there and watch them constantly to make sure they’re working on their school work. I have a few seconds to type something but I haven’t got a chance to go out and take the pictures. what I was wondering if anybody could help with is I’ve been looking on your site for a couple of months and Then joined. I haven’t filled out my new person form completely yet because I really need answers to these question. Once school is done today I have to go to the hardware store to get some wire for the coop so I can get it finished so husband lets me keep it. where I live in South Texas I have never that I know of anything to go through our chicken wire to get into a cage.know when me and husband trapped something trying for the skunk that lived under house we caught something that tore the floor of the cage out and dug out. I don’t think it was a coyote because it wouldn’t fit in the cage but we do have badgers where we live along with foxes because we caught one of those but he didn’t dig out and raccoons and possums and skunks. when I was a child my dad‘s chicken coop was made out of their 2 x 4 tied wire netting and we’re talking a good heavy gauge wire because it’s what he fenced in the yard to keep the cows as horses out of the yard and we did the same with our coop when we built it but I had a problem with the young ones/bantams getting out through the holes also the sparrows getting in that I did not want in. so we ended up covering that wire with chicken wire to keep the sparrows out and babies in. Probably should show y’all pictures of that too though probably people would see lots of faults with it because our coop is a lot different than y’all’s coops and we’re also planning on adding on because I got a whole bunch of new little baby chickens but that’s a post and a lot more questions for another time. What that was all far is I’ve never had a problem like a lot of y’all talked about of raccoons and stuff tearing into my cage even when I was a child we had more problems with the neighbors dogs tearing into the cage or killing the chickens that were out free range even now we had raccoons in our horse barn and we haven’t had problems with them in our coop though I’m sure it’s gonna happen. I have had coyotes take a couple of my chickens though. So my question on this is I am planning on using this Coop maybe slightly mobile but mainly as a grow out between the brooder and the chicken coop maybe later on moving it down into the pasture as a Time out or I want to put these chickens together for a special reason. I’m just wondering what kind of wire I should wrap it in if I should double wire it like I did my chicken coop and if I should put wire on the bottom of it because we don’t have aprons on none of ours and I do have two that are Mobile coops one that is just like a 2 x 6 on the ground and I have not had a problem with that though those stay up a lot closer to the house. I didn’t know if I should put wire on the bottom of it I do kind of want them to be able to get the grass and stuff and I don’t see how if I put wire on the bottom they can do it unless I use a big open netting that they maybe could crawl out through but coyote couldn’t go through. We do live in the sand. Also how do y’all usually attach the wire to each other or to the wire frame. I’ve used bailing wire before but it rusts after a few years and I know I’ll have to do it again. Husband thinks this coop will fall apart in a few months I think it will last a lot longer than that I will have to make sure it does. I was just wondering what else I could attach it with I’ve seen some different things that they talk about the J clips where they attach the wires together but I’m having a really hard time trying to find those where I live so any thoughts and suggestions would be nice I am sorry it’s so long and rambling. I don’t get out much. 😁
