Hi friends! First time poster here, I have three female ducks currently, two khakis and one runner. We decided to add a drake to the flock recently and I found a rescue a few hours from me and got approved for a drake! (see attached photo) the female in the photo was so unique I decided to get her as well. They said the male is a Rouen and the female is a Cayuga (the white one) she’s so unique I’m curious if you know what she’s crossed with? Just so I have an idea!

Cayugas start out completely black, but often turn white as your very pretty girl as they age. I have several that get whiter every year. My thought is that she is likely an older hen. Any idea as to her age?

I don’t know, I have to ask. I’m okay if she’s older honestly we have enough eggs. I looked up the breed and didn’t see the white and black coloring oddly! Thanks so much

I wouldn't be surprised if she still lays! My Cayugas are fantastic layers even though they are between 4-5 years old. They started up again in January after a little break and no supplemental light. Pretty amazing gals. Yours is lovely. :love

Thank you! It’s been my savior with navigating owning my three! Just never have created an account! Do you have any idea how old she may be if yours are 4-5? I’ll have to message them in the morning just to see

My oldest hen is five and is likely one season away from looking close to your gal. I'm sure they whiten differently, though. I'd wager a guess that she is at least five years old :) Let us know what they say!

I’ll let you all know once I know!
