rescue hen - not laying eggs

14 months is around the age many chickens start to molt for the first time, that may be why your leg horn is not laying. They do not live long if they are laying internally, you probably would have noticed a drastic change in her demeanor and appearance.

Today I noticed a big change in her: wheezing, labored breathing, water white diahrrea, very quiet, not eating and drinking much, not clucking normally. I separated her from the other one until I saw she was starting to wheeze too. After a great deal of research I am pretty sure I am dealing with mycoplasmosis. This is very bad and I may have to put all the layers to sleep to prevent spread to the new babies. It can be treated with antibiotics, but requires long treatment and they will continue to be carriers forever. I am going to watch them for a couple days, but I fear the worst. No one is laying eggs at all.

Gee, hope things work out and it isn't as bad as you think. Sounds terrible... so sorry.
