I rescued 2 hens about 2 months ago or so. I quarantined them, dusted them, pam'ed their legs, wormed them, everything. They seem fine and healthy and are giving me a TON of eggs, they are great layers.

So my question is this; when I got them, their back feathers were all broken off by a rooster. When I picked them up and inspected them, the tummy feathers are also broken off and ratty looking. PLUS there is a ton of feathers missing from the bum area. I've looked closely at the and I don't see anything, the skin looks perfect. The feathers just look like crud though. I thought the feathers would have come back in by now? I mean the bellies are almost totally bare... [IMG]

Maybe it will just take a little more time for their feathers to grow back. It sounds like those girls have found their hen heaven!
