That old? How old do they live?

Chickens can live for 10 years or more. The #1 killer of a chicken is a predator so if you can keep them safe they will go and go. I had a hen die naturally from old age and I have another that is 10 years old now. A roosters spurs will continue to grow throughout their lives btw.. You can trim them, if they are so long they are cutting his own feet. If that's not happening then I wouldn't worry

Hatchery quality Golden laced Wyandotte. Due to minimal spurs I will guess a this year cockerel perhaps 6 months old.

Actually he chases me out of the pen everytime lol.but hes still a great rooster
