FYI, Penny doesn't have a tail. Also, she has almost no comb until we had her properly nourished again.

Not a deathlayer, just looks like a small barred colored mixed breed the small comb means hopefully it'll be a pullet for you. Best of luck in her recovery

Definitely not a Deathlayer, completely wrong color. Your chicken is barred and looks like a mixed breed for sure.

Well its confirmed its a boy! He started crowing this week.

Well its confirmed its a boy! He started crowing this week. So sad I was really was hoping for a hen since I can't have roosters where I'm at. He is nice looking with his feathers growing in. I will start to look for a good home for him.

Definitely a chicken, & male. It's got double Barring. Thinking Cuckoo Marans, or possibly an olive egger.

He is getting his spurs and crowing. Looks like you were right on the double barring. Cuckoo Muran.

Not that it matters much but it's not a Cuckoo Marans with that pea comb and high set tail. Is it bantam sized or large fowl?
