OZ Aracaunas have tails. They can have a combination of muffs, tuffs, & beards but they do have tails & they do lay the blue eggs.I have never had an Araucana but it is a chicken without a tail.

Glad that mystery's solved.Definitely a chicken, & male. It's got double Barring. Thinking Cuckoo Marans, or possibly an olive egger.
I just learned something new. I didn't know about barring. You're welcome. Barring is a color pattern I have most experience with.
I still find it crazy how long that chick's beak is!Just an update. The lil rescue chicken has healed up and is standing on her injured foot now after wearing a shoe I made for it. Her wings are down like a Bantan and her coloring is a splash. I still think its a mixed breed. No crown or wattle so debate is still ou if male or female. I'm still soaking her foot and using the sling because she has a slight limp.
You and me both on the beak. It makes it look like a hawk compared to my Rhode Island Reds that are about the same age. Very long beak.I still find it crazy how long that chick's beak is!
I am happy the chick is getting better and hopefully it will be walking like normal in no time!
Same here. I think that is why it threw everyone off.I tried to reverse image search your chick and all I got was Japanese Quail/Coturnix Quail![]()
I have never seen a chicken, or chick with such a long beak. Doesn't look like the beak of any maran, RIR, golden comet, orpington, sexlink, wyandotte, etc. that I have ever seen. You and me both on the beak. It makes it look like a hawk compared to my Rhode Island Reds that are about the same age. Very long beak.
It is that, the beak, the tail, the coloration, and no comb. This is one weird bird!Same here. I think that is why it threw everyone off.
