Rescued Baby Duck! Help

Now that I think I can answer! You said feathers were coming in, right? Pin feathers are super itchy coming in and they'll also itch off the fluff as the feathers come out... you might also start noticing grayish/whitish flakes like really bad dandruff after those preening sessions... that will be the feather sheath flaking off as they grow out too...

Ok thanks. I haven't noticed any dandruff yet but haven't looked that closely plus his brooder us white paper towel so...

I don't think you'll see the flakes until the feathers really start coming out... but they do feather in on the belly area first so I don't doubt that's what the preening and itching is about... might give him a good check over for lice or mites just to be safe though...

A poo that he just did smelt like egg and i remember my mum gave him a tiny bit of scrambled egg this morning. I forgot that it has the whites in scrambled egg. Could this make him sick?

Shouldn't as long as it was fully cooked...

Im finding it a bit hard to check for lice/mites but it doesnt appear so

Good... then yes, I'd say itching is from new feathers... I just suggested to check since lice/mites could make him sick...
