Rescued Black Bellied Whistling tree duckling

We rescued 3,two from our pond, they just came rite up to us,the other one we got from the nest box, I seen there was ants crawling up the post and was gonna clean it out, found one that one was pipping out and the ants were attacking it,opened it up and he was alive !!
He's a week old and doing GREAT !
The oldest one has imprinted on me and responds to my voice and follows me around everywhere ..
Was wondering what are y'all planning to do when they grow up??
Allow them to leave when they want ?
And should we band them ??

The little whistler I had got to where he needed more space but wasn't old enough to be outside...(nowhere safe to keep him) so I took him to our local wildlife rescue where he can learn to be a duck

We have a nice area for ours rite now, gonna build a larger place, then gonna let them decide when they may want leave

That's probably the best thing. If your rescue is like the one near me, you can ask how he was doing after a few weeks, or have them contact you when they release him.
