Good afternoon, we rescued a chicken from a breeding factory, she is in a rough shape but since we rescued other in the past we know that the comb, feather etc. will heal. But her paw is really weird. Do you think this is bumble foot? she can not stand on it. We just got a her a epsom salt bath. We clipped her nails after the pictures.
Would an exotic vet be able to extract it you think?
thank you for your opinion. She is very sweet from what we can see (she has been here 2 days).

That is something nasty on her foot pad. If you can afford it you should take her to a vet. When you say “breeding factory” are you referring to a factory farm that keeps hens for egg laying?

Good afternoon, yes i will take her to the vet. It's a factory where rooster and Hens are together, they collect the fertilized egg to send to a hatchery then the chicks become rotisserie chicken. Those hens stay about 8 months then they are send to the butchery site. This group of hens was going to the butchery tomorrow. We got her 2 days ago, just in time. Have a great day

I understand. Breeder stock for the broiler industry. So good of you for rescuing her. Chickens are social creatures and do best when kept with a friend or two.

Yes i know, that is why, as soon as she is well enough with that foot, she can join our other 4 chickens. Now she sleeps in a dog crate next to them, so they can talk together and get to know each other. In those 4, one is a rescue from that same place.
