Hi there long story last August a baby squab fell with the nest along with the Dad/Mum flying down no other squabs was seen we were just below the nest as we have a glass table for a nice summer day unfortunately my dog killed the Mum/Dad instantly even before we came to help... we placed the squab where we think the remaining of the nest was in hope of the other parent would come back but no hope I didn’t want to wait and see him die... I brought him in and kept him warm syringe fed him until he could eat him self he had grown attached to me and lived with me for far too long to release and is now my life companion but recently I’ve noticed he’s been depressed as he has no other dove with him I cannot purchase another dove of his kind as they are a wild kind of dove he is in need of a girl friend but unsure what breed would suite him... any ideas ? Thanks he is a COLLARD dove btw

You could get another dove of a different species for companionship, they all vocalize fairly similarly and that's what's needed just somebody to talk to.:) I had a diamond dove as a buddy for my mourning dove, they got along very well.
Thanks I was looking for a female mabye but would they be able to cross breed babies?
