Rescued dove is lonely Any ideas?

We have a lone collared dove who flew in one day and kept landing on our heads, so obviously not wild. She lives in our aviary with finches and bourkes parakeets and seems happy. She makes a nest constantly and sits on her infertile eggs. She's still very friendly and sweet. If you are home all day to be companion to your dove it should be happy enough, but if not a friend would be preferable. Some doves can cross breed but it's not ideal so it's best to remove fertile eggs and replace with dummy eggs (make some out of polymer clay) otherwise you'll have too many doves and no where to put them. They are very prolific! Make sure you get a dove of similar size as larger 'doves' (ie. pigeons) can bully smaller doves, and some doves are tiny, such as diamond doves.

Thanks for the advice! Yea I will prob find a same
Size one somewhere hopefully... I’m in Uk so it’s not really for sale mostly wild... he’s a sweet guy loves my head as well!

How does your dove react to his reflection? A mirror might be a bit of company until you locate a friend. Maybe give him a bit of straw or a few sticks so he can try and build a nest. He'll probably just choose a spot on your shelf - our girl takes over a hang on food bowl!

I'm in the same position - I'd love to get our girl a friend but I cannot find anyone anywhere near us that has them. And we don't really feel like doing a big, epic drive for a $5 bird.

I honestly don't know, mine never tried any funny buisness they just ate and cooed and snuggled at night. It might have been the size difference or maybe they were the same sex i just don't know lol! They were both rescues one from the yard one from a pet shop, neither had feet.:)
Thanks I was looking for a female mabye but would they be able to cross breed babies?

Never friend that mabye will make him a nest :) I forgot how male and female doves usually sit on eggs I’ve had ducks and chickens for too long
