Rescued Duckling... newbie

Only just saw this, I used Clorox cleaner and washed/scrubbed it out with hot water. Its air drying now.

I have two cute storys one from yesterday and one today.

I was getting the twins a bowl of water. Let speedy drink out of it, she takes little dainty sips, so she doesn't make a mess - she's like a lady with manners lol. Only time she makes a mess is when she wants to be rebellious or is peeved. Anyhow, I'm always having to remind her to drink water with her food. I set the bowl down so she could reach it and she was still taking her dainty little sips. I did my call for them to get her attention, she looked at me and I tapped the side of my nose with my finger, then touched the edge of the bowl. She dipped her bill in slightly, then looked at me agai n. I did it again tapped the side of my nose, touched the edge of the bowl. She dipped her bill in further this time, then looked at me again - so i did it again, this time she dunked her whole bill in then came back out looking at me, i said good baby! Then did it again cause she didnt blow bubbles - she dunked in and was blowing bubbles and splashing her nairs to clean them out. I laughed a little and told her she was a good baby girl and gave her a little kiss on her head. Then gave the bowl to the twins.
She's freaking awesome, i love her so much lol.

So, I took out the 3 eggs that were in the nesting coop before i emptied it and set them on the sink for later. I was carrying the coop to the door so i could clean it up outside - speedy comes up and starts lightly pecking at my shoes and nipping at me. I set the coop down and shes all trying to get into it - i went to the sink and called her to me, she came and i bent down to show her the eggs in my hands. She started kissing them and wagging her little tail, fancy had followed her and he was wagging his big tail and kissing on the eggs too! I set them on the couch for her so they wouldnt fall and break - she jumped up and started rolling them the. She sat on them off and on until the coop was clean and dry. Oh and laid another one.
 
Speedy has been sitting on her nest for almost 2-3 days now... she only had two eggs in her nest, but fancy got impatient with the twins taking their time to get comfortable, he jumped speedy while she was on nest and broke one. She was really upset, came to me, shaking and making lighter version of the help me cry - she cuddled into my neck for a few mins - then wanted down, she's been on nest since. I put bowl each of water and food in with her.
If i take the last egg now - will she be alright? She's not laying anymore, and i took 2 while she was sitting on them before fancy broke the one and she didn't make a fuss. Will she continue to nest even if no eggs?

Twins are now alright with being out with fancy while speedy is nesting.
 
Glad to hear the twins are feeling at home? Do you want Speedy to hatch the egg? most likely it's fertile. If you don't then take it now before it starts to develop.
She'll probably keep sitting even if you take the egg until her hormones go back to normal. If you take the egg clean out all her bedding [nest] and replace with new. That may help her get over it quicker.
 
Sooo, I let speedy keep the lone egg. And it's been awhile since I've updated. Everyone is settling in and getting used to each other, twins have figured out I'm not going to hurt them so I'vebeen allowed to handle them more. I've finally named them too. The oldest is Donella, female version of Donald because i swear her chatter sounds just like donald duck, and the younger quieter more like speedy one is Isabella. Isabella really seems to realize I'm not going to hurt them as she'll cuddle into my neck like speedy does and let me hold her for a few. Fancy must miss speedy or something cause as soon as she gets up off her nest for a second to stretch, he's chasing her down and jumping her. I candled her egg today, does this look right?

Last picture is Fancy, Isabella, and Donella - floor needs more scrubbing, but it's getting done.
Speedy loves on those rubber duckies as if they're real or eggs! :love
 
It should be any day now... she's been sitting on it since at least march 28th, give or take a few days...

It might have been anywhere between mar 23th and apr 7th
