It sounds as though your egg is alive. With movement and blood vessels... For sure! It's hard to mistake those two things. What kind of incubator are you using? Canada geese are lovely, and I will tell you (secretly) that they make great pets. You could always get a few other little goslings to keep it company... I know a lot of people who rescued a baby goose and did keep it, though it must be kept rather under wraps.

However, as I think I shouldn't say that, it is technically not allowed to keep a wild goose. If you ask me, a stupid law; it is easier to kill them than to save them. Which is more destructive in the end? The most important thing is that you reached out when it was in need. Good luck.

Since the OP never said what kind of geese are at this pond they might not be wild geese, but dumped domestic geese. In that case I think it would be fine if you kept it. But if it is a wild type you may need a permit or something to keep it.

Thank you. I would love to keep it. My son would love him. The problem is two things. I have a pond which would normally be a good thing. But the year I did hatch duck eggs.. and raised them.. and swam with them in my pond (embarrasing yes?).. I noticed alot of raccoon tracks around the pond so I started taking a bebe gun at there in the night to scare them away from my ducks. Then one night a bobcat came within 20 feet of me. I didn't go back out there in the night so the raccoons came back. One night something (raccon or coyote?) killed every single one of my ducks (I had 8). I was horrified. Then we had a family of geese hatch some eggs out there and the babies were killed too. So Im not sure that will work. Then I have two massive Mastiffs that would eat the little thing for a snack. So unfortunatly im afraid me keeping it would end in heartbreak. But at least I saved his little life. If my pond is full of turtles, could they kill baby ducks/geese? Thanks so much.

I just candeled th eegg and I have major movement going on! I am SO HAPPY! So if I started incubating on the 17th of March.. then when do I turn down the temp and raise humidity? On the 11th?
