Hello all! I came to acquire ten baby chicks, and was wondering their breed, color, and possibly age. (You can read some more background info, if interested, here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/761959/the-rescued-flock-pictures-included#post_10848326 ) I know its hard to tell gender, so I won't ask unless its painfully obvious. I also think they may be mixes, though I might be wrong, so I'm really just curious about their color.

If you need more photos, I'll be happy to oblige.

The chicks:

"Falcon"

"Godzilla" (Much larger than the other chicks):

"Little Chick" (To be Little Hen or Little Roo):

Unnamed chick:

Unnamed:

Unnamed:

Unnamed:

Sweet Pea (Has what seems like barring on her back. Compared to the other similar chick, it is much more noticeable):

Unnamed (I thought the chic was a silkie, but he has five toes on one foot, and four on the other):

Unnamed (I only have one of this chick because my camera died, but he has four toes on both feet):

Thank you in advance for any help you can give!

They certainly are something! They weren't the flock I was intending to have, but oh well. :)

I agree! Super cuties!

In terms of breeds, the first one looks a little like my welsummers did when they were younger. Getting the same pretty wing patterns. Though I think as chicks, speckled sussex and easter eggers have that 'chipmunk' lool. I do think my little wellies have looked like eagles since they started getting their adult featehrs (which is maybe why you've named yours falcon!). The yellow ones are so so pretty, but no idea what they are! The black one with the white bellie might be an australorp. The yellow one with a bit of comb and wattles coming in already may well be a boy. And maybe the last ones coudl be a cross between a silkie and an australorp!

Thank you for the guesses! Her appearance is most certainly why I named her Falcon. :) I actually had a friend of a friend convinced she was a falcon chick, and we were raising her with chickens because she couldn't be raised alone. It was April Fools. xD

Now that you mention it, that yellow one does look a little like a roo, huh?

the last 2 are silkies. hatchery silkies can come with all 5 toes on both feet, 5 on one foot and 4 on the other, or just 4.

Oh ny that's hilarious you convinced your friend it was a falcon! If your falcon us a welsummer, I'd say its highly likely a girl cause you sex them by their eyeliner as chicks. The face looks a little different to mine, but the feather pattern is identical!

I'm glad to know! I was excited at first, but the toe number had popped my bubble. Very pleased to know I'll still be getting some silkies.

I adore welsummers. :) I can't wait for my flock to grow.
