A problem you will run into is that many of your neighbors do not know each other or do not talk at all. if me, then all searching would be by my efforts. Many people do not keep up with local forums / advertisements so that no longer effective option. If owner not found within a couple of weeks, then keep pullet yourself. It will prove exceeding easy to tame and likely out live any birds you currently have. I have some like that serve very effectively as pets. They are also very smart for chickens.
