This game pullet was left behind when renters moved out of a house in rural Alabama; found by a friend of mine. A mix, I suppose, but I'm getting American Gamefowl vibes. Any other ideas?

Hello Wild Iris, what a beautiful bird!
But to be honest I'm not an expert with these game breeds, but I would definitely agree with you and say this hen is a game fowl breed. This is the only guess I would come to conclusion, but her coloring does remind me of a welsummer. So, I wonder if you could research color on her to track down her breed to find out. My friend actually was given one of these game fowl breeds and she looks exactly like your girl in the picture. Although, since my friend had gotten her game fowl hen, she never looked deep in her game breed, but was just for sure it was a game fowl, especially from the tall fanned tail, her body shape, and for how almost exotic and tall she is. Are you planning on adding her to you flock as an addition since you found her?

Looks pure American Gamefowl, but unsure of strain. Could be a cross of 2, or more strains though.

She does look alot like Brassy Back.

You're right about the coloring--I'll have a look down that trail. Yes, I thought I might add her to my small flock. I didn't find her myself, but the finder didn't want her and I had kind of been keeping an eye out for a game hen.
