what breed is this? Or is it a "mutt"? Lol! Also, I have six 12-13 week old chickens. Still not sure of sex of all of them. I think all female except one I keep going back and forth on. However, we put this rooster right in with the flock and there have been no fights. The rooster seems very content and immediately flew up to the top roost to watch over his new flock! Might this mean none of my other s are roosters? How old does this rooster appear? I don't believe it is full grown, but appears older than my other chickens.

Here is a pic of the 13 week old leghorn I am hemming and hawing on. No fights with the rooster at all. But the comb and other redness around face seems more than the other two leghorns. Thoughts?

i concur that the rooster is a Delaware. I have a couple of Delaware cockerels right now and one of them has definitely taken over the young flock and keeps the peace (mostly, there are 7 cockerels in there right now). He definitely looks older than mine (10 weeks), but not by too much. Is he crowing? will you be able to keep him? Good luck!

I live in an rural location, outside city limits. So I can keep him. Have not heard any crowing yet. However, I wrk nights and don't get home til 9am at times. If he is a very early crower. No one else in my property has noticed him crow yet. Thanks for your help!

Your rescue looks like a Delaware cockerel that is probably around 16 weeks old. Your Leghorn in second picture actually looks like an Austra White pulled which is a commercial cross between Black Australorps and White Leghorns because I see multiple black feathers :)

He can't be a Delaware he has speckles that wrap around his neck. My Delaware doesn't look like that. He is also shaped different and has shorter legs.

We got the original six and were told the yellows were yellow leghorns. The one I pictured was the only one with a single black feather on its back. I think she is getting more, but the others have no other coloring besides the white. The rest are my Rhode Island reds.
