Rescued turkey-tom or hen?

OK so its a standard bronz? and it male. So how long would it take him to mature into the ones like on Steves of NC pics of his males on there website? I am researching turkeys now for spring and would like to keep a pare around long term for well just cause there cool.

Not sure about all of Steves birds?, But yours is mature! With time, it's spurs and beard will get longer, but as for breeding maturity, he's there.

As for the bearded hens post, true, I have have bearded rio grande wild hens, but this one in question is still a male, All black breast feathers are males, buff laced ones are hens, wheather or not they are bearded, spured, or snoody, ect, feather coloring is the sex identification indicator.
