ive been looking for pigeons to buy that are still young enough to re home them and have them learn to fly back. I saw some live squabs at a poultry market that are about to be used for meat and i want to rescue them (they are all piled into cages and look really unhealthy).
So my question is if i buy squabs who have lived in cages their whole lives and then move them to my loft can i still train them to be released and then fly home?
Also how can you tell the sex of them at such a young age? If i accidentally pick two males will they be able to live together?
If king pigeons are feed on quick growing food will they develop growth problems? If i switch them to regular pigeon feed will they be fine?
Also these pigeons are small locking and they are in cages with or their parents to feed them milk. Does this mean they are adults or are they still squab?
