I have 5 chickens that have been battling a respiratory infection for about 3 weeks. They are about 15 weeks old. We've done a round of TerraVet in their water and they're still sick. They have coughs and clear nasal drainage. They are still active, eating, and drinking. We went to the vet today and they didn't really know what to do. They said the chickens overall appear healthy. The vet recommended a round of Tylon. Has anyone else experienced this?

If they aren't responding to the tetracycline, then Tylan is a very good antibiotic to switch to. Did you vet direct you to a place to get it? The state or country in which you live may preclude you from being able to get it without a prescription.

The vet said he would prescribe it but honestly wasn't sure where to get it. He said he would call tomorrow.

Walmart may carry it in their pet pharmacy. If they don't have the program in your area, you can mail order Tylan from a number of online pet pharmacies like this one. https://homelabvet.com/product/tyclosin-500-30g/ and here https://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail.html?pgguid=30E07BC1-7B6A-11D5-A192-00B0D0204AE5
The Tylan 200 dose is 0.05 ml per pound of body bodyweight 3-4 times a day.
The Tylan 50 dose is 0.2 ml per pound of bodyweight 3-4 times a day.

Tylan is given orally to chickens as injection can cause tissue injury due to its caustic nature. Extract from the vial and remove needle and give orally.

Tylosin powder mixes in the drinking water.
