One of my roos just got over bumblefoot and now he's been sneezing. He's a little over a year old. I hatched him. He started sneezing and couldn't stop sneezing. Once he finally stopped he was mouth breathing which worried me, but its also hot so he could have been panting. He shook his head a few times too. His crop is full every night and empty in the morning. Still active. His voice has always been a little raspy. He's always breathed heavier than the other birds. Could it be an allergy? Is it genetic?

Yeah he's acting fine now, but that whole evening he was acting weird. He's still shaking his head though. Do you have any idea why he always sounds kind of raspy? Usually when he crows, but I think that's normal. He definitely does better in the cold than in the hot. He's not raspy when sitting for a while, but it doesn't take long for him to start panting after he gets up. Does he just have weak lungs?

Can you get a video of him so we can hear what he sounds like?
Upload video to youtube and provide a link.

Shaking the head - have you checked inside his ears for infection, looked him over for lice/mites and inside his beak for lesions or yellow/white pasty material?

What would I look for in his ears. I checked for mites and lice. He doesn't have any and neither do the others. His feathers actually look better now than they have in a while. I put him in a few months ago and the hens picked of the ends of all his saddle feathers. His beak and eyes are clear. I've tried to do videos and they won't load. Right now it's really hot and they're all panting anyway so it wouldn't help a lot. I checked his throat for any blockages and even to see if he swallowed his tongue. He seems fine, just raspy. It doesn't sound like there's stuff in his throat to me. It sounds dry like loud breathing.

The inside of the ear should look smooth and relatively clean, so look for signs of yellow waxy material or pus.

What breed is he?
Have you tried an antibiotic like Tylosin?

One other thing - if you feel below his vent between his legs - do you notice any bloat or a feeling of fluid?

I forgot to ask how old he is?

I'll check his ears. I haven't done antibiotics. He's a mutt, but I think he's a barred rock EE mix. I'll go check his abdomen. He's a little over a year old.

His ear look clean to me and they're not swollen. His abdomen feels fine.
