Respiratory Issues - Antibiotics or Antibacterial

Great hopefully noone shows any signs. Sounds like you got everything cleaned and disenfected. Keep us posted on the results of using the meds. If the birds are egg laying age you cant eat the eggs while they are on the meds. The measurements for the meds are 2 tsp in a gallon of water. use for about 7 days and then follow with a couple days of the probiotics. I hope everyone gets better..

madienwolfx80,
Do you use the duramycin-10 and ACV in the water at the same time? I went and got some duramycin-10 and am about to mix it up but was not sure if the ACV would neutralize it.

I totally cleaned, too. Another thing... can bronchitis be caused by blowing dirt? A week ago, we had a 60 mph wind storm... just wondering if it stirred up so much dust that they breathed in, and that's what may have gotten the ball rolling ( much like seasonal allergies in people that sometimes leads to bronchitis). Keep us posted!

oh totally!! good observation, things get kicked up in windstorms and get forced into their homes and lungs. For chicks with more sensitive bodies that is very possible..

OMG, this sounds exactly like what I am dealing with. Everything I read said with respiratory issues their faces were swollen, but mine are more sunken. Okay so what do I do? Should I keep treating with antibiotics and Fungal? I don't have any OXINE but I do have about 4 different feed stores within 20 miles so I am sure I can get some on the way home tomorrow. I should have it on had anyway.

I don't think you'll find it at a feed store I couldn't. I bought mine on line at amazon - Oxine (AH)
For animal health.
Up to you on the antibiotic it won't hurt to treat with Oxine at the same time. Hope they are back to good health soon.

Okay, thanks will check on Amazon. So I started another thread to see what other think, but here is a pic of the two in question. See how they have white showing in the corner of their eyes?

Also, that is her wing not her croup, she is holding it out.

Can't see what you mean about the white lid. Do you mean a cheesy deposit in the eye? That could be aspergillosis, also a fungal respiratory ailment. Or is it just the white of the eye? They do have that around the colored iris.

If you go to Revival Animal Health online, they have Oxine at a fair price. It cured fungal infections in a few of my older birds last summer when a few tablespoons were put in a cool mist vaporizer and the birds misted a few times each day. No signs of that fungal crud at all this year, but this year, the summer was much milder, too.

If fungal you do not want to give antibiotics.

***Didn't realize you already had this thread open about this same situation so closed your other one you PM'd me about, though I did answer on that thread-I see that someone already gave you the link to my thread about fungal respiratory issues.
