i purchased 6 point of lay chickens from a breeder, 2 bantams, 2 Araucana, 1 smaller black and a med size black with orange shawl, this is the one that acts very restless, she paces the perimeter jumps in and out of the nesting boxes and jumps over the fence, all the time acts so stressed and confused. When she gets out she is easy to put back into the pen, I think she did lay one egg without a shell. All the others are laying and they all get along very well. They have a well grassed orchard to roam I. During the day and I lock them into the hen house with the laying boxes in at night time

Seems like she is just stressed. Maybe your seller gave you her without also giving you her former best friend. It happens.

Give her some time to get used to the rest of her new flock. You can compensate a bit by spending time with her, giving her treats, and forcing (sorry!) her to spend one-on-one time with some of her other flockmates. I would start with the bantams.

Maybe she's made a secret nest while out free ranging? She could be anxious to get back to that spot if she's penned up, possibly why you're not seeing any eggs from her. Soft shells or shell less eggs can be common for new layers. Some birds take longer to settle in after a move... hopefully after some time she'll calm down and get comfortable in her new routine.

Thank you, I will spend more time in the yard with her, I can fence off a smaller yard to share with one of the Bantams if needs must.

Thank you, I will get Mum to spend more time with her so will see how she goes.
