Rethinking dirt floor of coop…what options we have

I recently worked on my coop floor and added pallet floors with chicken wire on the top. My chickens walk on the wire. When I clean and wash away the poop, it goes down below. Most everything dissolves and drains away with the water. I sprinkled dirt on the top of bigger messes. This works so much better than dirt floor that got muddy like pictures. My coop now has roof because we've had weather vary from 17 degrees in winter and 107 in summer. I feel better when I know my girls are better taken care now. Our weather here in Texas can be extreme.

My concern would be the critters access under the pallets. Do you have it predator proofed?

Yes, for sure...not to mention hard for them to walk on chicken wire.
